So, after 11 hours of bus from Cairo, escorted from a check point to another by vehicles of the army with canon machine, we finally arrived at the border of Eilat in southern Israel. 4 hours later we arrive in Jerusalem. The city enchanted us. Clean, modern, quiet, full of history and religions.
The next morning we went to the free walking tour in the old town. Churches, mosques and synagogues are adjacent from a street to the other you walk through different neighborhoods, Muslim, Jewish, Greek Orthodox, Catholic, and they all seem to co-exist in peace.

We went to see the famous western wall and the church where Jesus died and was resurrected.

The next day we were tired, we decided to take a day off to do nothing. For dinner in the evening we went out with two Brazilians we met at our hostel.

Friday morning, we went for the day in Palestine on a tour, first to Bethlehem on the other side of the wall, where we met our Palestinian guide who tried to explain a little better the very complicated conflict between Israel and Palestine. Then we stoped to visit the ruins of the palace of hisham of the 6th century, before finishing the tour in Ramallah the capital of Palestine.

At night for dinner we had a traditional Jew meal, for Sabbath.
The next day we went to Mount Olive to see the best point of view of Jerusalem, we were not disappointed.

Then we went to visit the city of David, who was king at the time of Jesus. We visited the ruins of his palace and went in a tunnel built at the time, 45 min walk through a tunnel super narrow in a flowing frozen water.

The next day we took a bus to visit the Masada plateau and the ruins of the rebel Jewish people at the time who committed suicide collectively at the arrival of the powerful Roman army. ” Better to die than living as slaves.” From the top the view is beautiful.

Then we went swimming in the Dead Sea. An incredible experience! The Dead Sea is the lowest place in the world 420m under the level of the sea and also the saltiest water in the world, so salty that there is no life and it is impossible to drown, you float like a rubber ring, it is a strange sensation! Also very unpleasant, it seems you swim in oil, air temperature was 45 degrees and the water was also veeeery hot, careful not to get water in the eyes, it scratchs seriously!
