After 2 hours of boat we disembarked on the famous island of Koh Phi Phi to spend two nights as we really wanted to see the wonderful beaches like on the postcards. But on Koh Phi Phi is the most expensive place in Thailand and prices are multiplied by 2 or 3. Phi Phi is not an island to relax anymore but to go to party, In the evening the beach bars are taken by a crowd of young party people and it looks like a competition of whom put its electronic music louder.

The weather was not so good as it was very cloudy and we had to wait until the last day to visit the famous Maya Bay beach, the one from the Hollywood movie “The Beach” with Leonardo Di Caprio. It’s true the place is very beautiful but polluted by the mass of tourists and at least 70 boats in front of the beach, which makes it loses its charm …

In the end we preferred the lagoon just behind the island of Kho Phi Phi Lee, Pi-Leh Bay, with a crystalline blue water that was wonderful. We stopped also to do some snorkeling but we preferred in Indonesia.

After that we went to Krabi, in Tonsai Beach,where we stayed 4 nights in a roots bungalow in the middle of the jungle, in a community with a hippie vibe, around monkeys, big spiders and insects of all kinds. Tonsai is one of the best spots in the world for rock climbing and so we met many climbers there. The mountains that surrounded the beaches are beautiful and the water is very green. We met our friends from Brazil Yuri and Tim who were there on vacation (congratulations to the new fiancés) and we spent two days with them relaxing on the beaches.
In the evening we were going to a beachfront hippie bar from where you could contemplate the mountain in the dark and Alexis played two nights with the local group and other people from all around the world.

Now we leave Thailand towards a very different world… Sri Lanka and India! We are super excited. Yeaah!!!
