After Cappadocia we took another night bus, this time towards the Mediterranean coast. We arrived in the tiny town of Olympus, a town of dirt streets that is hidden in the woods behind the mountain. It was a good surprise! We stayed in one of the hotels with the famous tree houses, where we could hear only the sound of nature, super relaxing. We rested for two days at the stone beach and enjoyed the wonderful views of the castle ruins.

One night we visited the Chimera, the eternal flame. The place where for more than 1,000 years gases are emitted from the stones and there is a natural flame that never fade away. Even with the rain the flame comes back after the rain stop. The famous Olympic torch comes from there, where a thousand years ago it was created a contest where participants lit their torches in the chimera and ran toward Olympus. Gradually other activities were added to the competition and over the years turned into the Olympic Games. It was very cool to know this story.

After we left for a 3 nights trip by boat along the Mediterranean coast towards Fethiye, with 14 companions (1 Turkish, 4 Americans, 5 Australians, 2 Canadians and 2 Italians) and the boat was stopping at the nicer points along the way.

In the charming town of Kas we had the visit of a huge old turtle. We visited the butterfly valley and did a hike to the waterfall and of course Carol could not stay quiet and in Oludeniz she took the opportunity to jump into the water from a cliff 9 meters tall. Crazy Carol!

It was a delicious and relaxing trip. On the program: sun tanning, music, beer, party, card ganes, some sightseeing and diving in the shallow turquoise waters (by the way the turquoise color comes exactly from that region because of its waters), with a beautiful view and a delicious menu every day. We had a great company on the boat, good chat and Alexis entertained everyone with his music. We loved and recommend.
