From Istanbul we took a flight to Belgrade, in Serbia. It was not in our plan to go there, but we really wanted to visit friends who lived there and we noticed that from Turkey it was a short trip.
We were incredibly well received and spent 4 wonderful days in the company of our friends, Ned, Tania and their daughter Mia. Belgrade hasn’t a lot to see, but our objective there was not so much sightseeing, but to enjoy time with friends.
Anyway, we still visit the beautiful center with its old buildings well maintained, the Orthodox Church which is a symbol of the city, the fortress and we did a bicycle ride around the lake.
We had delicious dinners, in a more modern restaurant and another more traditional where a group was playing songs and locals sang and danced along with them. Very cool!
On Sunday they took us to Ned’s hometown, in Novi Sad, and we had a delicious lunch at a farm in the company of their friends. After feasting we all relaxed in the garden while Alexis and Ned played guitar. A perfect program for a Sunday!
And later Ned organized a night at a bar for them to play, with professional equipment and everything. We met several friends and family and once again we had a delightful evening.
After so much time traveling it was very good to be in company of friends. We felt like at home and like going back to normal life.
