Turkey – Istanbul & Cappadocia

We arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, and we had a good surprise. There was nothing how we thought; on the contrary, the city is modern, charming, full of energy and with an incredible scenery. We felt super happy. For 3 days we walked everywhere with sunny days and blue skies.

We did a boat trip on the Bosphorus channel where we could enjoy the beautiful scenery and the old palaces of the sultans. A must here.

We walked through the old town, Sultanahmet, and visited the famous Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace and the Grand Bazaar, for sure the most luxurious, neat and organized bazaar that we saw so far.

For Carol’s birthday we had dinner at a nice restaurant with an amazing view of the city. Good celebration.

From Istanbul we should go to Cappadocia and for the first time we decided to do an organized tour with everything included. At this point we’re a little tired of searching for everything by ourselves, so we enjoyed Carol’s birthday and gave us this present.

For 3 days we visited the coolest places in the region, the underground city, the Monasteries on the rocks and the most beautiful valleys. A region formed by different volcanic minerals and years of erosion that resulted in a formation of rocks that can only be found here. Absolutely stunning scenery!

During the tours we had a wine tasting from the region, we saw the pottery making process and we went for a Turkish night, with traditional dancing, drinks and cuisine.

To continue the celebration of Carol’s birthday we did a balloon ride at sunrise over the valley of Cappadocia, an incredible experience and a must do here. It worths every penny!
