In the central region of Vietnam

We left the South Central region of Vietnam, after 10 hours by bus we arrived in Nha Trang, a city facing the beach with its green sea, palm trees and cheap hotels. We rented a scooter and went to visit a waterfall, a Boudiste temple with huge statues of Boudda, we ate local in the street and at the old market center, very good and super cheap. We went to a black and white photos exhibition of a local photographer and we enjoyed very much his work. We also found a couple of Dutch friends, Mark and Sofie we met on the boat in Indonesia, we spent a pleasant evening with them before continuing our journey…

We stopped in Hoi An for 2 nights. One of the only cities in Vietnam that was not bombed during the war. The old center is protected by UNESCO and it looks like the time stopped there, with the little houses and their architecture of 250 years ago. Hoi An is also the city of taylor made clothes and it is possible to get a tailored suit in few hours for US$ 50. It is also the city of Vietnamese gastonomie and we took the opportunity to go to a good restaurant. Once again we rented a scooter to visit the Marble Mountain, a mountain with caves where big buddha statues were carved directly in the rocks and with nice views of the region and to finish our day we did a boat ride in the rain.

But getting to that part of the country we had a surprise … Contrary what anyone could believe, while November is a good time to travel in South and North in the center of the country is the worst month of the year! Said and done … The rain began to fall steadily, and so we decided to slightly change our roadmap and accelerate to the north. We left the next morning to Hue, the ancient Vietnamese capital, where we were suppose to stay for 3 nights and ended up spending just one afternoon (under the rain) to visit the former imperial palace before catching our night bus for more 12 hours to north, to escape from the bloody rain.

Sapa ? Quelles sont les prochaines destinations ?
    Bise, Isa
